Today I’m reviewing two books by Jamie Kern Lima. The first one is called Believe It, and the most recent one, which just came out in 2024, is titled Worthy. Jamie founded It Cosmetics and eight years later sold it to L’Oreal for $1.2 billion. Subsequently, she became the first woman to hold the title of CEO in all of L’Oreal’s 108-year history. 

For a woman hitting midlife, diving into Jamie Kern Lima’s books is like grabbing coffee with a wise friend who’s been there, done that, and lived to tell the tale. Lima’s story of hustling through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship is like a shot of motivation for anyone contemplating a career pivot or chasing dreams later in life. Crack open one of her books, and you’re bound to find nuggets of wisdom on how to own your quirks, squash self-doubt, and strut into the second half of life like you own it.
