As a solo, I love living in a big city. City living does have many benefits- access to an energizing social scene, loads of job opportunities, proximity to museums, clubs, theatre, and more, all right outside your door.

But with those city benefits, come drawbacks. Cities naturally have a fast pace of life, and there is the rather constant noise of traffic and course, a concentration of people. These drawbacks can take a toll on our mental and physical health, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and stressed out if we don’t bring slow living into our city lives.

In this episode, I share tips for slowing living in the big city including:

  • the importance of finding green spaces to enjoy and the fascinating daily habits of French people regarding nature and what we can apply to our own lives

  • the role mindfulness plays in maintaining peace within yourself despite a chaotic environment

  • how to prioritize activities and social invitations so you avoid burnout and fatigue

  • why reducing your commitments to activities can help you find authentic connection

  • ideas for converting your living space after the kids move out or a major life change and how the environment impacts slow living

Find your joie de vivre in the big city!
