Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022!!
A week ago, I talked about making your list of accomplishments and learnings from 2021.
If you’re like me, you are surprised at all you accomplished – both big and small AND now have a list of everything you learned from those missteps or direction changes you made in 2021. Acknowledging all you learned from those missteps, is invaluable and gives you powerful knowledge that you now bring to your 2022 actions.
Onto 2022!! Woo-hoo!!

Episode 68: Are You Ready for Your Dream to Happen?
What is it you want to accomplish in 2022? Just like interior design announces the color for the coming year, you can pick a word, a picture or even a quote that symbolizes what you want to create in 2022.
For me? It’s to give my business all the time and attention as though it is one of my children. I read that recently somewhere, and I realized that’s exactly how I’m going to care for my business this year. And just like I almost single-mindedly raised children, I’m going to focus on raising my little business.
But…. there is always a, but right? Well, I don’t know about you, but what often happens to me is that I start out with a bang and then junk starts to get in the way. By junk, I mean that same old stuff that I keep trying to manage but always seems to get in the way of me making my dreams happen.
And…. because I want this year to be the year YOU get started on turning your passions and interests into a business or growing that business you’ve been working on in your spare time…. starting on February 1st, I’m offering a mini workshop called 3 Weeks to Dream Readiness.
The new Extraordinary Women Magazine issue came out on January 1st. Do subscribe if you haven’t already. In this issue we highlight two women who took their own passions and interests and started businesses that are all about what they love and enjoy. I think you’ll be inspired by them.
Anne LaFollette started her pattern design business after her long and very successful corporate career ended. Anne let herself mourn for a bit but then tapped into her long-buried love of art and creativity and paired it with her joy and skills in nurturing the strengths in others. Out went the heels she wore to feel empowered at a table of men and in came her art studio in her home and what emerged is her very successful pattern design business. I absolutely love Anne’s business tagline which is “It’s Never Too Late to Create….”
Then, the second woman we highlight in this Extraordinary Women Magazine issue is Rebecca Devaney, an Irish-born art teacher and director turned skilled embroiderer and storyteller. Rebecca gave up her prestigious art teaching position to get her MFA and then attend Lesage, the revered embroidery school in Paris. Rebecca worked for several of the top haute couture houses in Paris before she began her business which combines lecturing about the intersection of culture and the hand arts, teaching students of embroidery, organizing tours of the specialized ateliers in Paris, and creating multiple embroidery products that she offers on her website.
Both Rebecca and Anne embraced and then created businesses from their inner loves, passions and strengths which might help you to find what it is that you love, what it is that you are good at and what businesses could be possible in that space?
I’m reminded of that saying…If you love what you do, you’ll never call it work.
But we need to give it our all. We need the time and space to focus on our dream idea. We need to treat our goal for 2022, as though it is a precious child that we need to nurture and raise.
And sometimes, we must clear out the old to get ready for something new.
In Podcast #65- That is titled Are Your Gifts Still in the Closet? Ladies, it’s time to start taking your gifts out of your closet and make room in your life for you to use those gifts.
And to make room, we must throw out what no longer fits, what no longer feels right. I mentioned moving to my condo in Boston and it has been a giveaway or throw away party from the first day I arrived.
Well, we have to do that same thing in our lives so that we have room for whatever it is you want to create or grow in 2022.
On February 1st is the first gathering of my 3 Weeks to Dream Readiness mini workshop.
Week one – we’ll start with our surroundings. How to clean up where you live and work so that you can turn your passion into a business or grow that business you already started and why that is so important.
It might be your kitchen if you have a cooking show/class idea, or a studio if you are an artist, or a writing space if your goal is to finish your book in 2022. Or maybe you want to start a podcast or a vlog this year and you need a place where you can record and edit.
Week two – will focus on how you spend your time. You’ll be doing a time log to see exactly how you are currently spending your time and what is getting in the way of you having the time for your 2022 goal. Time (like money) is a valuable resource, but time is finite. No one can give you more time and there isn’t any way you can get more than 24 hours in a day. Therefore, you have to carefully manage your time and this week we will talk about how to make decisions that maximize the time you have.
The last week of this mini workshop will be talking about your self-confidence. How to grow it, how to protect it, how to manage your mindset to ensure you’re being kind and supportive to yourself by eliminating any negative stories or beliefs you tell yourself. This week is about taking actions that continually support your self-confidence that you will achieve your 2022 goals.
This little workshop is a must do. How do you sign up and what does it cost? If you’re an Extraordinary Women Magazine subscriber, you’ll get this workshop as part of your subscription and worksheets to help you to make your Dream Readiness Plan.
Plus, if you can’t make the live calls, as a magazine subscriber, you can always email me your questions and I’ll address your questions on the next call. You’ll get the recording of each call, so you’ll know when I talk about your specific question.
Perfect right?
So, subscribe to the magazine and you’ll automatically get all these bonuses.
I want 2022 to be your next best year. I want you to get started on turning your passions in a business or project or growing what you have already started.
And to quote Anne LaFollette…. Ladies “it’s never too late to create….”
Thank you for your precious time today and as I say to my friends and neighbors here in Paris…. À Bientôt!
